The Bumble
“Everything takes time. Bees have to move very fast to stay still.”
I have learned that to keep my Bumbles I have to let my garden go.
I was too quick to tidy up here, dead head there and straighten things up for the approaching blanket of snow. It may be ugly but let your dying flowers go a little bit longer in your flower beds. The insect stragglers that come out on a warm day after the first frosts will thank you.
Life is tough for Bumbles, give ’em a break or we may loose them all.
Great advice! I love bumble bees.
great shot and wise words … have no idea how we will manage if we kill them all off 😦
Yes, this very thing. I worry so much about the passing of so many beautiful creatures from this earth because we, the apex creature, are so greedy. I did not see any Bumbles this spring or summer. They did not come around until the fall. I had been leaving not very attractive spent flowers just to woo the late Bumbles. It worked. Now, from reading up, I’m going to resist the urge to neaten the garden until spring. Bumbles need winter homes that are created by letting your garden go a bit wild.
But seriously, you are right, how can we be the generation that destroyed Monarchs and Bumble Bees??
yes, criminal … thanks for letting your garden go, it will be a safe sanctuary for many 🙂
