“Grandma sent the hammock,
The good Lord sent the breeze.
I’m here to do the swinging—
Now,who’s gonna move the trees?”
I almost threw this photo out but something about it made me happy. Grandma had a hammock up at camp on Pushaw Pond (Maine). My parents engagement photo was taken in it and as we came along we played in it as children. Bliss is idly swinging in a hammock but real happiness is flipping your brother out of one.
Hammocks got crazy popular last summer. I’m seeing them everywhere, even strung from lighthouse pier catwalks.
May a hammock and a perfect day find their way into your summer.
