The Lure of the Open Road

This photo has many flaws, the bugs, the flare, the dirty wind shield but I love it because it speaks of the great American road trip. What a joy to get in your truck and drive until you’re tired, exploring a strange land and looking for a place to sleep. This is in Western Nebraska. We were making our way west through the undulating Sand Hills and as the sun was setting we were met by an East bound Wyoming coal train. This is the stuff dreams are made on:
