The “No Weather Available” Weather Report

WEDNESDAY
NORTH WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. CLOUDY. A CHANCE OF SNOW
UNTIL MIDDAY…THEN A CHANCE OF LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS IN THE AFTERNOON.

THIS WILL BE THE LAST NEARSHORE MARINE FORECAST ISSUED BY GRAND RAPIDS (NSHGRR) UNTIL LAKE ICE DIMINISHES. AT THE PRESENT TIME SIGNIFICANT ICE IS AFFECTING THE NEARSHORE WATERS. THE NEARSHORE FORECAST WILL RETURN AT SOME POINT THIS SPRING.

I did notice from various cams the ice pack off Grand Haven and Holland has shifted and you can see water. Our cams are out, but, they are NOAA cams so I wonder if they just shut down til ice out this spring. Any vessels or captains that rely on them aren’t leaving the harbor anytime soon. Sigh.
